Hillsburn Receives Six Music Nova Scotia Award Nominations Garrett Mason, Jodi Guthro, Port Cities and POSTDATA Added to Festival Lineup

It’s finally time to start speculating: we’ve rounded up all of the Nova Scotia Music Award nominees to showcase the best musicians and industry players the province has to offer. Hillsburn leads the way with six nominations in this year’s Music Nova Scotia Awards, including nods in major categories Entertainer of the Year and Recording of the Year. David Myles, Gabrielle Papillon, Matt Steele & The Corvette Sunset and Mo Kenney all follow with four nominations each. The Nova Scotia Music Awards will be presented on Sunday, November 4 at Nova Scotia Music Week (NSMW) in Truro, Nova Scotia.
Orchestrated Neighbours: Urban Music with a Classical Twist

Orchestrated Neighbours is a “mash-up” of various Urban contemporary (hip-hop, R&B, soul, etc) and Classical genres, that will combine artistic and community goals through outreach, creation, and collaboration.

The Orchestrated Neighbours project endeavours to braid artistic and community goals through
outreach, collaboration and partnerships to improve Music Nova Scotia’s representation and service in African Nova Scotian and Indigenous music communities.
NSMW 2018 Announces First Round of Artists

Over 100 artists will take to the stage during Nova Scotia Music Week in Truro, Nova Scotia, November 1 to 4 with over 80 acts included in today’s first of two artist announcements. The first round of artists includes representation from Country to Hip Hop and everything in between.
