East Coast Bluegrass Camp in Tatamagouche
Sunday, July 8, 2018 - 12:00 to Friday, July 13, 2018 - 12:45

Come Join Us!

With the rise in popularity of Bluegrass Music, we present you with the first annual East Coast Bluegrass Camp. The camp will be held at the Tatamagouche Center in beautiful Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia. The center is situated at the convergence of the French and Waugh rivers on the eastern shore of Nova Scotia. The camp runs from Sunday, July 8th to Friday, July 13th, 2018. We have gathered an all-star lineup of instructors for Banjo, Mandolin, Guitar, Bass, Fiddle and Vocal with many years of playing professionally and a genuine interest in teaching their craft. Our instructors can provide a solid basis for learning and a world of experience that camp students will certainly benefit from.

The goal for the camp is to establish 10 bands made up of camp students. Each band will select 2 or 3 songs in the bluegrass genre and develop these songs during each day with assistance from staff. This will culminate with a student concert on the last evening of the camp. The focus will be on developing your confidence to play with other musicians. The instructors are there to help and are not there to judge. Every one of your instructors was once a beginner and relied on more experienced musicians to show them the way. This will not be a competition. The emphasis will be on learning and having fun.

The basic day is comprised of a one-and-a-half-hour group lesson with your instrument, practice time for your band, specialized workshops open to all participants, 3 delicious meals and snacks, instructors concert, slow and fast jam sessions in the evening and free time to use as you please. You will also receive a half hour (one to one) lesson with your instructor which will be scheduled for you sometime during the week.

Our commitment is to give you an experience that will be fun, entertaining and educational by providing a wonderful learning environment coupled with our highly qualified instructors. We will also hold enrolment to 10 students per instrument to a maximum of 50 students for the camp. Tatamagouche Centre, Nova Scotia

To date, this is the only Glimpses show this summer.  Glimpses have been called "the most interesting history lesson that you're ever likely to witness.   All cast members from the past 5 years will be present for an evening of narration, sildes, comedy and music.   If you are a fan or Glimpes or you have not seen the show, this is could be the only opportunity of the summer.
