Casino Nova Scotia Announces Fifth Annual Artist in Residence Program - $20,000 to support the winner’s career!

Casino Nova Scotia is calling on emerging Nova Scotian musicians to compete for the fifth annual Artist in Residence program. The $20,000 prize will provide an emerging Nova Scotian musician or group with financial, career training and showcase performance support through Casino Nova Scotia and partner Music Nova Scotia. 

“The inherent talent of east coast musicians is well known across Canada, but to watch it blossom before your eyes is a privilege,” said Chris Roberts, Executive Director of Casino Nova Scotia.  “The Artist In Residence program is all about giving local talent a leg-up. We’re honoured to have played a small role in the development of what are sure to be future stars.”

The evaluation process will be conducted by an esteemed panel of industry professionals (to be announced soon) and will include an assessment of artists’ goals and career path, demos and an interview with selected applicants. 

The contest will culminate with a live performance of the finalists at the Casino Nova Scotia Schooner Showroom on Friday, June 15 featuring the current Casino Nova Scotia artist in residence Devarrow

The Casino Nova Scotia Artist in Residence program will provide the winning musician/group with $20,000.00 to assist with developing their career through recording, marketing, and live performance opportunities. Music Nova Scotia is administering the program on behalf of Casino Nova Scotia and will provide career path support and exciting industry showcase opportunities such as Nova Scotia Music Week and Canadian Music Week.
