L'nuta'ql Music Showcase

The L'nuta'ql Music Showcase project seeks to create incentives and inspire artists to begin writing, recording and performing music featuring the Mi’kmaw language. We are seeking musicians of Mi’kmaw ancestry, to professionally record and perform their music as part of the L'nuta'ql Music Showcase project. To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must submit a demo in the Mi’kmaw language (in entirety or in part) and be available to perform on October 28 in Membertou.

Applicants may submit songs without Mi’kmaw language but the song must have a strong connection to Mi’kmaw culture and the applicant must be agree to including MI’kmaw phrases or language within the song if chosen to participate.

All musical genres and styles will be considered. Song submissions will be juried by a panel of Mi’kmaw recording artists. If your song is selected you will have a fully produced studio single recorded and engineered by FMP Matrix. Successful submissions will also be awarded up to $500.00 and receive accommodations, travel expense reimbursement and meals for the October 28 live performance in Membertou.
