posted by Breagh Mackinnon on Tuesday August 6

Cape Breton singer songwriter Breagh MacKinnon has a busy August ahead. Recently nominated for a 2013 ECMA for her first full length album, Breagh has become known for charming audiences across the Maritimes. Described as folk pop, Breagh’s style has been influenced by multiple genres ranging from her parents’ vinyl collection, to an emerging jazz influence to the local Celtic music scene.

“Mackinnon's debut sees her already in control of a sound for her thoughtful words and gorgeous melody lines..Her voice soars above each track, as a grand bed of piano, acoustic guitar, stand-up bass, strings and brass.Wisely, she's the lead instrument through it all.” -Bob Mercereau Music Review -CBC New Brunswick

“Where the Days Went shows a new direction for Mackinnon, a more mature, developed sound.” -Stephanie Johns, -The Coast
