Things Keep Lookin’ Up

Yes folks, ‘Things Keep Lookin’ Up’ for Shirley Jackson & Her Good Rockin’ Daddys with the release of their fourth CD. Recorded over a span of two years it became a special blend of sixteen tracks, nine of which are Jackson originals. Sassy swing, soulful ballads, gritty blues and spunky instrumentals stylistically cover a wide range for any blues enthusiast.

Marc Doucet, a former Good Rockin’ Daddy is a special guest guitarist on the recording along with band member Tom Crilley on guitar exchanging lead and rhythm roles throughout the CD. With Jackson on vocals and tenor saxophone, Dawn Hatfield on the baritone saxophone, and Dave Harrison on the trumpet and flugelhorn to round out the Good Rockin’ Horns; while bassist Jef Wirchenko and drummer Ainslie Jardine solidify the groove in the rhythm section.

The band continues to hail to a sound inspired by the early years of Rock & Roll when horn sections were an integral part of the sound stylized by Jackson’s own song writing and horn arrangements.

An official CD release event for “Things Keep Lookin’ Up” is scheduled for Saturday, October 21st at Bearlys House of Blues, 1269 Barrington Street, Halifax for 9:30pm.
