Lisa Richard

Residing in Halifax for the past 19 years Lisa Richard began demonstrating her vocal talents at the bright young age of four. She immediately entered the music business by belting out "Ballroom Blitz" for family and friends, charging a quarter per performance. By the time she found herself in university, she was immersed in singing. While studying in Toronto, she began a two-year stint singing harmonies and backup with local band Frank Perry’s Slice at such notable venues as the Horseshoe Tavern, Lee's Palace, and the Opera House. Eventually Lisa found herself heading back east, settling in Halifax to explore the city's vast musical opportunities. It was not long before she was inspired by Theresa Melenfant and her powerhouse pipes. After hearing Theresa's performance she was on a mission. She formed her own band with a troupe of talented musicians called Walter’s Patio and for over 5 years, played around the Maritimes. She has since created amazing opportunities for herself by singing alongside Hal Bruce, Shirley Jackson, Carson Downey, and Matt Minglewood. Now with her own Trio and 6 piece band. She has performed at the George Jones Entertainment Centre, Tootsies and Music City Bar and Grill in Nashville. She has also performed during the East Coast Country Music Night at Casino Nova Scotia , Casino New Brunswick and many other maritime venues. Lisa is a talented singer, treating fans to amazing, powerful vocals. Her range extends from country to rock and blues. She has been working alongside producer Hal Bruce for her debut EP which has been released January 29, 2017. Have a listen and you won't be disappointed.
