Nominations Now Open for The 2014 SiriusXM Indie Awards

On Saturday, May 10th we'll be announcing the winners of the 14th Annual SiriusXM Indie Awards.  But first, we need the nominees. Will your name be on the list? Submit your nomination(s!) for your chance to be recognized by your industry peers, media and fans alike. Help us celebrate your achievements among the independent music community.
Submissions are being accepted through until February 28, 2014. Artists or their representatives (including labels and managers) can submit nominations on their behalf. All submissions completed before February 14th will receive discounted pricing.
The eligibility period for all awards categories runs from September 1, 2012 through February 1, 2014. Nominees must have been active during the eligibility period and are based on the performance of the group or artist either on record or in live performances.

Music Nova Scotia Showcase Stage at ECMW 2014: Call for Submissions

The Music Nova Scotia Showcase Stage during East Coast Music Week will take place at the Pour House (89 University Avenue, Charlottetown, PE) on Friday, April 5th and Saturday, April 6th. This showcase stage provides Nova Scotian artists the opportunity to perform for a target audience of influential industry professionals attending East Coast Music Week, including local, national, and international talent buyers, managers, and media. The Music Nova Scotia Showcase Stage is an official partnered stage of ECMW.  
The call for submissions is now open and will close on Friday, February 21st at 5:00pm (AST). 
This call is open to all members of Music Nova Scotia in good standing, however, preference may be given to artists who meet “export ready” or “exporting” status as defined by the Music Nova Scotia Export Development Program, and/or have an established team infrastructure and strong professional history.
To apply to the Music Nova Scotia Stage, members can log in to and click “Apply for MNS ECMW Showcase” in the My Projects menu on the left hand side. 
You must also meet all of the following criteria will be considered for this showcase stage:
  1. Your Music Nova Scotia membership must be current.
  2. Your member profile at must be updated and current to include your new Short URL.  (Example:
  3. You are a resident of Nova Scotia
You are considered a resident of Nova Scotia if you meet both of the following criteria:
  • Primary artist and/or the majority of the group has lived in Nova Scotia for not less than 12 months consecutively.
  • Primary artist and/or the majority of the group pay income tax to the Province of Nova Scotia
If you do not have an updated member profile you will not meet eligibility criteria.
