and The NSLC Gala Award Show Hosts and More Artists Announced
Music industry professionals representing ten countries will converge in Sydney, Nova Scotia this November for Nova Scotia Music Week. The NSMW Mind Over Music Conference (#MOM2013) will feature guest delegates from Canada, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Austria, the UK and the US.
Music Nova Scotia has made it easy to customize your #MOM2013 conference experience by identifying four unique tracks designed to help you target sessions and guest delegates. The conference tracks are Export Training, Navigating Nashville, Domestic Buyers Summit and Business Academy. The tracks will offer a series of speed meetings, presentations, panels, workshops, round tables, interviews, pitch sessions, mixers and keynote speakers.
UK music industry legend Peter Jenner will present the #MOM2013 Conference Keynote Address.  Jenner has managed Pink Floyd, T Rex, The Clash, Eddi Reader and currently manages Billy Bragg. Grammy winning songwriter Gordie Sampson will lead a delegation from Nashville in a focus on the business of songwriting. From September until May, Sampson lives and writes in Nashville, where the Cape Breton native has become an established member of the community. Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Little Big Town, and Faith Hill are just a few American artists who have covered Sampson's songs.
The Domestic Buyers Summit, designed for community presenters and festivals from the Atlantic region, will address challenges and success stories of presenting music in smaller markets.
The Business Academy Track, which targets emerging music professionals, will provide insight to a wide range of topics including collection of performance royalties, music streaming services and the relevance of traditional radio in music discovery.
