NSMW Sessions application will open on November 10, 2020
NSMW Sessions deadline is 5pm, ADT on November 27, 2020
Applications for NSMW Sessions are now closed.
Music Nova Scotia understands that 2020 has been a year full of challenges. Although cancelling Nova Scotia Music Week was an obvious decision, it was not an easy one. The team and board of Music Nova Scotia have been working diligently to find a way to showcase members and engage Nova Scotian communities, within the mandate and framework of NSMW.
With that in mind, we’re pleased to announce applications are now open for NSMW Sessions.
NSMW Sessions will consist of 5 shows in 5 different markets across the province in early February. The shows will each feature 3 different artists, with a total of 15 artist performances. Audiences will be invited to NSMW Sessions where COVID-19 regulations are able to be in place based on venue capacity and readiness. Within the current climate of music and export, it is more important than ever that artists present themselves in a true and strong way using digital platforms. Music Nova Scotia will work with a professional film and sound crew to film each set, and provide participating artists with a high quality live performance video of a track of their choosing. In the traditional sense of showcasing, artists who are selected to participate in NSMW Sessions will then have the opportunity to opt in to the NSMW Delegate Program. The Delegate Program will consist of 30 delegates, with international and domestic representation. Delegates will be chosen from a number of different fields across the industry – live, marketing, digital, events, and more – guaranteeing participants get feedback from a variety of different angles, and can form relationships with tastemakers from across the country and around the world. We understand that this is a very small representation of the amazing talent that exists in our province, and we’re looking forward to returning in November 2021 with the robust programming NSMW is known for.
