Raised along the coasts of small town New Brunswick, Andrea Cormier is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Weaving together classic folk and dream pop, Andrea’s new self-titled EP delivers the silvery vocals and twelve-string melodies heard on her debut album, Creatures of Illusion, but amplified with a full band. Swelling synths and surging rhythms rock back and forth between Andrea’s gossamer voice. Lyrics sung in English and her native French emerge from the haze with lucid meditations on the tragic and the mundane. Andrea’s latest release moves between sound, language, and memory, marking an arrival to new sonic shores.
