Pearse was born and raised in a musical family in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and at a young age he picked up songwriting and showmanship skills. He is the son of Irish entertainer Jimmy Sweeney, formerly of the Barlee Bree and is the great nephew of the legendary Irish folk singer, the late great Tommy Makem.
During his early years, Pearse travelled with his father around eastern Canada, attending numerous festivals and concerts that his father would perform at. At these shows, Pearse would often find himself sitting just behind the curtain of the main stage, studying each performer and how they interacted with the audience. This is where his love for the performing arts began.
At the age of 12, Pearse picked up the guitar for the first time and has not put it down since. His love for song writing blossomed throughout his teen years and into his 20s as he cowrote many songs and fronted many rock bands.
In January of 2023, Pearse began his journey as a solo artists with the intent of making a name for himself in the music industry. He released two singles that were well received and is continuing to write and record material that will be released in 2024.
With much work ahead, Pearse believes that musical success can be achieved in the great province of Nova Scotia and is excited to be able to perform for the people here.
