Sebastián Sánchez is a Colombian-born songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and animator whose music is as eclectic as his journey. Originally from Bogotá, he spent 15 years in Montréal before settling in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia in 2021. With more than three decades of writing and performing behind him, Sebastián crafts songs—most often in Spanish—that reflect lived experience with honesty, groove, and vitality.
His sound blends funk, pop, rock, and blues with the rhythmic soul of cumbia, vallenato, and reggae, creating music that feels both familiar and adventurous. Influenced by artists such as Carlos Vives, Diamante Eléctrico, and Bacilos, as well as international voices like Jack Johnson, John Mayer, and Coldplay, his style is rooted in rhythm yet open to exploration. A multi-instrumentalist, Sebastián plays electric and acoustic guitar, ukulele, harmonica, and voice—while also embracing the textures of electronic pads, trip hop, and synth pop. Inspired by innovators like Jacob Collier, he is unafraid to expand beyond traditional instrumentation in search of fresh sonic possibilities.
