His music is a mosaic of roots-rock, psychedelic and acoustic soundscapes drawing influences from across the 20th century, anything from Link Wray to The Cranberries. Often performing with a signature virtuosic fingerpicking guitar style, Ballard’s catalog is a spectrum of relaxed inviting pieces and psychedelic electric anthems. His diverse and unpredictable musicianship is known for keeping audiences hooked from the first chord to the last note.

With songwriting characterized by unconventional arrangements and genuine lyricism, Ballard delves into relatable themes inspired by modern disillusionment, romance, consciousness and maritime culture. Jake’s style is grounded in a down-to-earth approach, creating a darker sound that is a unique blend of warmth and technique with familiar bluesy undertones.
