Wolfville’s Lily Gunn is an emerging folk-indie and alt-country voice rooted in East Coast storytelling. With a stripped-back, intentional style, she creates intimate spaces for raw narrative. A Stan Rogers and NSMW alum, her sound is truly authentic

Lily Gunn is an emerging folk, alt-country singer-songwriter based in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. Rooted in the East Coast’s rich storytelling tradition, her music centers on emotional honesty, quiet observation, and a deep sense of place. With a performance style that is stripped-back and intentional, Lily creates an intimate space for listeners to engage closely with her narrative-driven songs.

A familiar face on the East Coast circuit, Lily has shared her music as a “tweener” at Stanfest and the Kempt Shore Festival, as a featured youth artist for Nova Scotia Music Week, and has opened for various artists across Nova Scotia. In the fall, Lily will be a MainStage act of Wolfville’s Deep Roots music festival.

Her artistry is further shaped by her debut collection of singles—a collaboration with acclaimed songwriter and producer Dave Gunning. This latest collection of songs marks her arrival as a compelling new voice in the folk community, with her third single “Unbroken Wings” reaching #4 on the international Top Songs of July Chart, based on plays from 43 folk DJs all over the world.

Rooted in the storytelling traditions of Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Lily Gunn’s music is a bridge between traditional folk and atmospheric alt-country. Her debut single, “Bad Things,” showcases a “sonorous” full-band expansion of her usually minimalist, intentional solo style.

 “It’s a brilliant debut release.”
Dan James, BGfm Wales, Blaenau Gwent, Wales, UK

Her third single of her series release took international radio by storm, making it onto CKUA radio within the first few weeks of its release.

I can’t stop playing this song by Lily Gunn. It’s so beautiful and soothing.
Daniel Goodridge, Production Assistant, Music Library

When she takes the stage, that complexity is distilled into its rawest form. Performing solo with a stripped-back setup, Lily’s sets are built on intentional silence and raw, folk and alt-country textures, creating an intimate space for her narratives to breathe.
