Raised in Dartmouth and based in Clare, Peach on a beach (aka Larry Peach) is an emerging Nova Scotia singer-songwriter and electronic/hip-hop artist creating nostalgic vibes.

Released on Oct 4/24, “Clock is Ticking” will have you questioning your place in the universe while simultaneously dancing your worries away. “Zooming In”, released in May, is an over the top tribute to Peach’s lifelong love of maps and a tongue-in-cheek take on how their use has changed over time. Winter single “Rabbit Hole” is a detour to the dark side, tackling the futility of arguing online. These first singles from Peach on a beach’s upcoming sophomore album All Over the Map hint at exploring new sounds and themes.

During the pandemic Larry purchased a keyboard to learn his favourite synth riffs from the 1980s. After a few months he invested in more equipment and started writing original material.

Inspired by new wave and hip hop, electro and comedy rock, his musical influences range from The B-52s, Barenaked Ladies, Beastie Boys, Dr. Seuss, John Carpenter, The Cure and Pet Shop Boys.

Debut single “Beeping and Bleeping” is about growing up in video arcades during the golden age of the early 80s. The song charted on CIOE 97.5 East Coast top 30 and peaked at #1 on January 14/23 after 11 weeks.

Second single “Pizza Corner”, a hip-hop tribute to late nights spent at the iconic Halifax landmark during the 1990s, also reached #1 on CIOE 97.5 on May 20/23.

Singles and videos for “Before Call Display” and “Anticipation Street” were subsequently released.

Flashbacks is the debut album by Peach on a beach, a whimsical collection of eight hip-hop and electronic tracks about growing up as a teen in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. 1980s nostalgia with an East Coast twist. Flashbacks was released online and in CD format in July 2023.

In fall 2023, Peach released two ambient tracks and a holiday single “Charlie Brown Christmas Tree” with a video release in December 2024.

Did You Know? Larry works full-time as the tourism manager for the Municipality of Clare and marketing coordinator for Gran Fondo Baie Sainte-Marie, the largest cycling event in Atlantic Canada.
