Announcing NSMW 2021!

Music Nova Scotia is pleased to announce that NSMW will be welcomed back to the great town of Truro, November 4 to 7, 2021.

Each November more than 1,000 musicians and music industry professionals from around the world come together in Nova Scotia to showcase and celebrate the incredible musical talent that exists in the province. Due to health and safety concerns around COVID-19, the 2020 iteration of Nova Scotia Music Week (NSMW) was cancelled.

“As the greatest event in Nova Scotian music, once again Nova Scotia Music Week is an excellent opportunity for our communities to highlight our region’s diverse yet collaborative Nova Scotian spirit,” says Matt Moore, Chairman of Events Truro-Colchester. “We look forward to hosting the best of Nova Scotian music in 2021 in anticipation that this festival will extend our tourism season and kick-start the return of festivals in our province.”

The last year for the live music community has been uncertain, and we understand the expansive hardships faced by the entire industry. NSMW is committed to presenting a safe, creative, and scalable event that is adaptive to the current climate and has the best interests of the community in mind.

Although the event will look different than in previous years, NSMW will continue its strong tradition of showcasing talent, providing education, facilitating connections, and celebrating Nova Scotian culture and hospitality. The health and wellness of attendees, artists, and industry are of the utmost importance and NSMW will prioritize safety based on the latest epidemiology recommendations from the Province of Nova Scotia to ensure a safe event.

NSMW would not be possible without the generous support of FACTOR, the Government of Canada, and Canada’s Private Radio Broadcasters, the Province of Nova Scotia, and Events Truro Colchester. In addition, NSWM is proud to announce a new partnership with Labatt, who will be bringing Alexander Keith’s, Okanagan Cider, and East Coast Lifestyle Rum Soda to NSMW attendees and future Music Nova Scotia events.

“We are excited to enter into this long term partnership with Music Nova Scotia and Nova Scotia Music Week” says Jim Gallant, Labatt Marketing Manager. “On top of our shared vision and brand alignment, we are proud to support our local, Nova Scotia musicians. Leveraging brands like Alexander Keith’s, with 200+ years of history in Nova Scotia, we will help bring music to life throughout our communities!”

We look forward to sharing the new NSMW format and news with our community over the coming weeks. Follow along on social media and sign up for the NSMW newsletter at nsmw.ca to stay up-to-date.

Thank you to the amazing regional and far-reaching NSMW community; your resilience continues to be inspiring and we look forward to seeing you in November.
