Born and raised in Canning, Nova Scotia, Grammy-nominated Canadian, London based artist, producer and songwriter Laura Roy blends her love for classic 70’s folk and 90’s r&b vocals to create a unique soulful sound.

Born and raised in Canning, Nova Scotia, Grammy-nominated Canadian, London based artist, producer and songwriter Laura Roy blends her love for classic 70’s folk and 90’s r&b vocals to create a unique soulful sound. After releasing multiple artist projects and collaborations, Laura showcases her multifaceted vocal range and eclectic songwriting and production styles. Settling into modern r&b/soul driven material, Laura’s 2018 EP titled “Forte” won “Best R&B/Soul Recording of the Year” at the 2020 East Coast Music Awards in Canada. In 2021, Laura teamed up with Grammy Nominated artist Lianne La Havas, and multi-instrumentalist and producer Geo Jordan to create a 6-track EP titled “Tides” released in 2021 as an ode to Laura’s upbringing in rural Nova Scotia, Canada. The first two single releases from the EP, “Water” and “Not Afraid” gained Laura features on New Music Friday Somewhere Soul, Apple Music’s New in R&B, Spotify’s Fresh Finds – The Wave, as well as radio play from BBC Radio London, Capitol 1xtra and Platform B Radio Brighton. Laura most recently gained recognition as a songwriter on Doja Cat’s 2021 “Planet Her” Album for contributions on “Alone” and attended the 2022 Grammy Awards in Las Vegas. Outside of her solo artist project, she has worked as a vocalist for pop heavy hitters Camila Cabello, Anne Marie, UK based artists Jordan Rakei, Mae Muller, Sam Ryder, Jack Garratt and Mabel.  Laura’s most recent 2023 Odyssey EP has received support from CBC/BBC radio as well as being featured on Niche Music Japan, Loop Magazine Print Issue and placements on multiple Spotify Editorial playlists including R&B WeeklyChilled R&BNew Music Friday UKFresh FindsFresh Finds R&B. She recently supported Elli Ingram on her UK/EU tour and will be supporting Ego Ella May for her London headline show, July 2023. Laura continues to blend genres and showcases her incredible songwriting and vocal versatility through her live performances and releases.
